This past week, some very close friends treated my wife and me to a surprise Valentines evening event. After a nice dinner in our home (yes, a charcuterie board was made by my wife – see previous blog post here 😊 ), we were off to a candlelight string quartette concert featuring many popular, romantic and incredible pieces. Being a music lover of all forms and most styles, I was thrilled at the opportunity to listen to amazing talent, take in the atmosphere and hold my pretty wife’s hand on Valentine’s Day. What I noted was the precision of each instrument. Each person was playing a separate part in each piece of music and when put together, it formed a wonderful sound. I noted that each person had a “layer” of the music and worked in close coordination with the others in the quartette. Yes, the musical pieces could have been played solo with amazing clarity, but when in a group, the sound that was produced was almost hypnotic in nature. Yes, that’s really deep, huh. 😊
This is similar to the task I have been completing when putting together my online business. It’s not just a pretty website that automatically appears. It has layers and layers of moving parts functioning below the surface that make the technical parts work and make it all come together. There are so many things and layers to mention. In fact, too much to name now, plus I will be detailing them in future blog posts. I hope you find value in these future “learnings.” But for now, I hope you find value in knowing it is possible. I mentioned my mentor, Dean Holland, has been instrumental in setting me up for success. He is not only a motivator, but has guided me every step of the way with inspiration, enthusiasm and technical assistance. The first layers are the desire to succeed, the desire to know why you want this business, the desire to make it happen, the desire to never give up and the desire to pass on what you learn to others who have similar desires! The next layers fall in place when you have a good platform as a resource. I have Affiliate System that contains all the layers needed to build my online business. I just need to access the layers to produce the “beautifully harmonized” business I want. Fortunately, Dean and my community at Affiliate System are right beside me. Again, more to come.
If you are curious about this process and wish to know more about an affiliate marketing business, please subscribe to my newsletter here to learn more. And please continue following my blog. My hope is not only to create the freedom I so long for but pass on what I have learned to others who have similar aspirations.
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” – Plato
“Some days there won’t be a song in your heart. Sing anyway.” — Emory Austin
And, as usual, a few terrible dad jokes:
What type of music are balloons afraid of? Pop music.
Why did the cello get kicked out of school? Because it kept viola-ting the rules.
Until next time, enjoy life’s music and STAY FRESH!
I really love your analogy between music and business. It is a perfect illustration of one plus one equals to three, and it is probably true in many other areas of life as well. Just wondering, do you play any instrument yourself?
Yes, it does resonate well! I used to play music when I was a chelid, but sadly no more. I am a huge fan of the arts and am glad we have music to feed the spirit!
This is a wonderful blog and what a lovely moment for you and your wife. It’s not the big things in life that are important…. It’s all those small magical moments that mean the most. I hope your had a lovely night.
The analogy is brilliant too. Every part is just as important as each others. I work in a bakery, and just thinking about it, that’s the same too. Baking a cake has lots of important parts to make the masterpiece that is a cake!
Thank you
Baking – what a great correlation and comparison! We did have a great evening and I hope you are doing well. Thanks for the visit!
Absolutely loved reading about your Valentine’s evening and the beautiful analogy you drew between the concert and building your online business. The way you described the precision and harmony of the string quartet, and how it relates to the intricate layers of running an online business, really resonated with me. It’s so true that, just like in music, every layer of a business, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in the overall success. Your mention of Dean Holland and the supportive community you’re a part of is truly inspiring. It’s a reminder that while individual effort is essential, the support and coordination with others amplify the results, much like in a beautifully performed piece of music. I’m looking forward to your future posts detailing the layers of your online business journey.
Thanks, Tony! Harmony in business and life is so very important. Yes, Dean Holland has made a nice way to assist in this business and I am blessed he is a great mentor! Cheers, my friend and thanks for the visit!
What a wonderful analogy. The layers of the music and how it all comes together are really applicable to affiliate marketing. Not only are there so many layers and things going on behind the scenes, but it is about people working together. I am so grateful for the community of people that I have found through Dean’s program. It is one thing to learn from the conductor, but when you are handed the music and start practicing with your peers, they take you to new levels, and that is exactly how I feel about the community at Internet Profit Accelerators; how lucky are we!
Oooohhhh, good point. The conductor needs to be able to hand off the music for the musician to practice and perfect. He can only do so much. Thanks for your insight and the visit!
Hey Ernie,
All I got for my Wife was Flowers, Candy, dinner and Dutch Bros gift cards (That’s her favorite coffee place)…
A live musical performance, What a fantastic evening!
As far as layers! you are spot on. whether it’s building music or building a business it takes a number of factors working harmoniously and in sync for things to run as intended and produce the desired results. I myself used to create and Engineer Hip Hop and Rap music, although we rarely had live instruments, the “layers” concept stays true there as well in creating and piecing together a great song (or as we call them in the Hip Hop Community a “BANGER”!)
Looking forward to your next post My Man!! AGGIE UP! 😆
Hey Ray – Sounds like you had the day covered with your wife. Nice job! layers are needed to uncover the real music, huh? Like your landscaping, it’s just not mowing the lawn, but building a product to be proud of as you show your gifts. Thanks for the visit!
Hello Ernie,
That was a wonderful blog comparing it with the layers of music. It sounds like you had a fantastic time.
Great job on this one.
Can’t wait to read your next post.
Sandy
Thanks, Sandy! Yes, we did have a great time and I appreciate your visits to my little blog posts! 🙂
The symphony orchestra analogy is a good one. As we work in concert with others here and all over the world, it becomes startlingly apparent how connected we are.
Love the jokes!
I completely agree and we are on the same page! We are all part of one concert with this great community! Thanks for your visit, Kate!
Ernie, really nice blog with a really good point. People don’t realise what goes on behind the scenes or the amount of work that goes into it. Just seeing the website or hearing the music shows how good it is that people don’t consider the effort. It’s like a swan gliding but feet flapping under the water. Or like the rest of the iceberg under the water. Well done great blog. Thanks, Atif
Ahhhh, Atif – You always have a great word and are so encouraging! Yes, there is so much behind the scenes that we can get caught up in the details rather than the “real music.” Best wishes on your adventures and I look forward to seeing you again on your and my blog.
Hi Ernie!
I liked your analogy! Affiliate marketing, as does music, has many pieces that need to be bought together and placed in sync with each other to create a wonderful harmony.
I’m glad you had a nice Valentine’s night as well.
All the best!
Milissa Neirotti
Hi Ernie, ah yes, the candlelight quartet performances. Just gorgeous. I had the pleasure of attending one a few months ago featuring Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Love the analogy between the music and affiliate system. A beautiful piece of writing.
Andy
Thank you for your nice comments and visit! Vivaldi – just beautiful and I am a little jealous :). Best wishes to your HUGE success!
Thank you, Milissa! When all the pieces of this business fit together well, harmony is produced. Now to maintain that harmony, huh? 🙂 I appreciate your visit!
Hi Ernie,
What a beautiful analogy! It really is like a beautiful piece of music when all the parts play in harmony 🙂 There are more moving parts than I ever imagined were needed to get a site operating successfully. Nicely written 🙂
Thank you! Yes, harmony in all that we do is so key. The moving parts cannot work without harmony in the layers otherwise it’s just random noise. I hope the best for you and thank you or your visit!
Ernie, it’s good to know you are a family man and love your Bride. Hope your Valentines Day was all you wanted it to be. I can so agree with all you mentioned…..Are you a musician? I am a drummer and have enjoyed music all my life. I’m glad to hear you are greatly benefiting with Dean’s leadership. I am grateful myself, that I found Dean. We are scaling together to great success bro!
Have a Highly favored Day,
John

Thanks, John! It is nice to meet you. I wish I was a musician. I used to play as a child but now I can only play the radio! 🙂 Dean is so great, huh? Patient and kind are two of his biggest attributes. Thanks for the visit!
Ernie,
What a fantastic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! I share your passion for music, and I completely understand the analogy of layering instruments being similar to the layers of your business. It’s such a creative comparison! Keep the Dad jokes coming. I always get a chuckle from them.
Sherri
Yes, it was a great evening! I do find that humor helps to take the edge off a stressful and busy like. Thanks for your visit!
I love the analogy between music and our business. So true and well written. It is definitely layer upon layer and I agree that we will all get there as long as we keep moving forward, even if slowly. Great post,
Thanks, Kae! Layers are important, just sometimes difficult to maneuver though, but worth it! Thanks for the visit!
