I’ve always loved milestones. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Work wins. Quiet victories no one else sees. If there’s a reason to pause, acknowledge effort, and make someone feel important, I’m in.
Maybe it’s how I was raised. Maybe it’s because life has taught me that nothing is guaranteed. Or maybe it’s just because I’ve seen what happens when people go too long without hearing, “You’re doing a good job.” Milestones matter because they say, “This wasn’t accidental.”
They represent consistency and commitment. Showing up when it would have been easier not to. And today, I’m celebrating one that means more to me than I expected when I first started.
This Is My 104th Straight Weekly Blog Post
Two full years. No missed weeks. No “I’ll catch up next time.” Just a steady decision, week after week, to sit down, reflect, and share something I hoped would add value to whoever might read it. And yes, I’m celebrating it. Not because it’s perfect. Not because it went viral. But because it happened on purpose.
Why do I celebrate, even the small stuff? Celebrations don’t have to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes they’re a dinner at home. Sometimes they’re a quiet walk. Sometimes they’re just a moment where you stop and say, “I’m proud of that.”
I’ve learned that if you don’t acknowledge progress, your brain starts believing nothing is happening. And that’s dangerous, especially for people trying to build something new. Most people don’t quit because they fail. They quit because they stop noticing their wins.
That’s why I believe in celebrating milestones. Not to inflate ego, but to reinforce momentum. If you don’t pause to recognize effort, exhaustion eventually wins the argument.
So, what does this have to do with running an online business? Well, I’m glad you asked!
Halfway through this journey, something became clear. This blog stopped being just a writing habit. It became a weekly checkpoint. A place where life lessons met business lessons. Where stories turned into structure. Where reflection turned into clarity.
Over two years, the themes stayed consistent, even when life wasn’t.
- Planning before selecting/using tools
- Coaching over guessing
- Community over isolation
- Systems that support people, not overwhelm them
I’ve written about family, loss, growth, frustration, and perspective. Not because they’re separate from business, but because they’re woven into it.
Business doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens between school pickups, doctor appointments, grocery store aisles, road trips, and quiet mornings when you’re wondering if you’re making the right moves.
My goal has never been to impress anyone. It’s been to make things clearer. To help someone avoid wasting months chasing the wrong thing. To remind someone they’re not behind. They’re just early to show that progress often looks boring before it looks successful.
If even one person felt less overwhelmed because of something I shared, then this milestone matters.
Here’s something most people don’t talk about. If you don’t celebrate progress, you won’t sustain consistency. Celebration creates closure. Closure creates confidence. Confidence fuels the next step. That’s true in life, and it’s especially true in online business.
Too many beginners skip celebration because they’re focused only on the finish line. But the finish line keeps moving. There’s always another goal, another metric, another comparison. Celebrating milestones doesn’t slow you down. It keeps you in the game. And staying in the game long enough is where results actually come from.
If you’re trying to build something online, especially if you’re tired of bouncing between tools, courses, and opinions, structure matters. You don’t need more noise. You need a solid foundation.
That’s why I often point people to Internet Profits Academy. Not as a shortcut, not as hype, but as a framework for planning, coaching, community, and tools in one place so you’re not piecing everything together on your own.
Whether you use it or not, the lesson is the same. Celebrate progress but build with intention. If I hadn’t celebrated small wins along the way, this would never have become 104 weeks.
So, here’s the real question. What milestone have you quietly passed that deserves a little recognition today? Pause. Acknowledge it. Then take the next step on purpose. Because momentum loves to be noticed.
If you hear anything from this post, please remember that consistency is worth clapping for, even when no one’s watching and that If it took effort, it deserves acknowledgment. And I’ll be right here next week, doing the same.
Now, I like to celebrate with cake. I wonder if my wife has any left over from the last event we celebrated. 😉
“Celebrate what you want to see more of.” — Tom Peters
“Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” — Henry David Thoreau
And of course, a few VERY BAD Dad jokes:
My idea of celebrating success is taking a deep breath and saying, “Well, that didn’t fall apart.”
I threw confetti for my accomplishments. Now I just have a bigger mess and the same confidence.
Until next time, STAY FRESH, Friends!

Wise words, Ernie! Even though I lost momentum as this year comes to an end, I still post daily on my Dear Boomers You Tube Channel, and write to my email list several times if not more to my email list. Instead of lamenting all that I must still do, the wisest task I can do is start each day with higher levels of consciousness like Pure Love and Forgiveness, and maintain those levels throughout the day. All else flows from that.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Ernie!
Hi Kate – Thank you so much for sharing this. I really appreciate your honesty about momentum and the way you continue showing up for your community through your channel and your emails. Focusing on intention, love, and forgiveness at the start of each day is such a powerful way to stay grounded and keep moving forward with purpose. That kind of inner alignment truly shapes everything that follows. Wishing you a meaningful and joyful New Year, and I’m grateful we get to walk this journey together as friends and colleagues!
Congrats Ernie!
Be very proud of this great milestone and accomplishment. Hi Marc – Thank you so much for this thoughtful message. Your kindness means a great deal, and I truly appreciate hearing that these posts have helped you see things in a new way as you continue building your business. You are absolutely right that we often wait too long to acknowledge the progress we are making, even when it is shaping growth in powerful ways. I am grateful for your support and encouragement, and I look forward to continuing this journey together. Wishing you and your family a wonderful 2026 filled with purpose, health, and exciting milestones ahead.
Ernie, this really made me smile! 😊
104 weeks of showing up is a big deal, even if it doesn’t look flashy. Most people don’t realize how much discipline it takes to stick with something week after week while life is happening in the background.
What you said about people quitting because they stop noticing their wins really made me stop and think. If you don’t pause once in a while and say, “yeah, that mattered,” it’s easy to feel like nothing’s working when it really is.
Your posts have always felt real to me. Real life and business mixed together the way it actually happens, not the polished version people like to show online. No fluff, no trying to impress anyone, just an honest perspective that makes you pause and think.
This is absolutely a milestone worth celebrating. 🎉 I hope there was leftover cake… and if not, this feels like a pretty solid reason to get more. 😉
Hi Meredith – Thank you so much for this kind and thoughtful message. I really appreciate the way you acknowledged the discipline and commitment behind showing up week after week, especially when life is moving in the background. You captured the heart of what this milestone means to me. It is not about being flashy, it is about staying present, learning along the way, and honoring the effort it takes to keep going.
I am especially grateful that the reminder about noticing our wins resonated with you. That idea has shaped so much of my own journey. When we pause long enough to say that mattered, we give ourselves permission to keep building with confidence instead of doubt.
Hearing that the posts feel real and grounded means more than you know. That has always been my hope, to share life and business as they actually unfold, with honesty and perspective instead of polish. Thank you for celebrating this moment with me. And yes, I think you are right. Even if there was no leftover cake, this might be a pretty good reason to pick some up.
I wish you a fun, prosperous, and exciting New Year!
Hi Ernie,
Congratulations on reaching your 104th straight weekly blog post! That is an incredible milestone. I love your point that ‘consistency is worth clapping for, even when no one’s watching.’ It’s so true that we often skip the celebration and head straight to the next goal, but taking a moment to acknowledge that momentum is what keeps the fire going. Here’s to many more weeks of ‘staying fresh’ and sharing your journey!
Hi Denny – Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate you recognizing the milestone and the importance of consistency. You are absolutely right that it is easy to move on to the next goal without pausing to acknowledge the progress that brought us here. Taking that moment to celebrate really does help renew energy and momentum for what comes next. I am grateful for your support and encouragement, and I look forward to continuing the journey and staying fresh together in the weeks ahead.
Hi Ernie, Congratulations on 104 straight weeks. That’s proper commitment, not the kind where you post when you feel like it and disappear when life gets busy. Two years without missing a week takes real discipline. Your point about celebrating small wins is important. Most people quit because they stop noticing progress, not because they’re actually failing. When you don’t acknowledge the effort you’re putting in, it becomes too easy to convince yourself nothing’s happening. I’ve noticed the same thing in my own journey. The weeks where I stopped to recognise what I’d done, even if it was just getting a blog post out, were the weeks I had energy to keep going. The weeks I ignored progress were the weeks I felt stuck. Your writing has always felt grounded in reality rather than theory. You share the messy bits alongside the wins, which makes everything feel more achievable for the rest of us still figuring things out.
Here’s to the next 104 weeks.
Cheers,
Atif
Hi Atif – Thank you so much! Your words mean a great deal, especially knowing how long you have been walking alongside this journey. I truly appreciate the way you recognize the discipline and commitment behind showing up week after week, even when life is full and unpredictable. Hearing that the message about celebrating small wins connected with your own experience makes it even more meaningful. Those quiet moments of acknowledgment really do help us keep moving forward with purpose instead of discouragement.
I am grateful for your consistent encouragement, your thoughtful reflections, and the way you continue to share your own journey so openly. Your support over these past two years has mattered more than you know. Thank you for being part of this milestone and for reminding me why staying the course is worth it. Here is to the next stretch of growth, learning, and meaningful progress ahead. Cheers, my friend.
This is an outstanding achievement, my friend. You are a role model, I must say.
